1st June 2010:
According to Webster the etymology of Travel roots to torment, labor, strive, journey. I guess because in early ages traveling must have been a really difficult task. In our current, well cushioned, lifestyle traveling need not be a laborious journey. Though in a way I do agree that strive it is – strive to find something new, at times in the outer world and at others in your inner soul. To me it has always been an endeavor to search for answers deep within me, sometimes with the help of novel surroundings.

Even though this blog has been a reflection of my journey, through the lens of my camera. I am compiling some of the photographs I have taken during my journeys. Stick around while I take a breather to reflect on the past excursions.

Front View of the Eiffel Tower, Paris France.
On a sunny day in Paris you can just lie down on the grass for hours and keep gazing the Eiffel Tower. The life seems just so simple at that moment. It doesn't take much time to realize that no problem is insurmountable, if someone could build a tower like that, all your problems can be unraveled too.

When taking picture of people in public I like to take their permission before clicking. Sometimes I click them first (to avoid losing a good natural shot) and then show the picture to seek approval. Then there situations where I cant ask for permission as the subject is at a distance or s/he leaves before I can reach her/him.

This post is about neither of such situations. I was playing around with my ISO settings while shooting some friends and realized that at high ISO level the portraits can be really dramatic. I experimented the shots that I putting in this post with the same technique. I kept the ISO high and deliberately took pixelated images. The results are fairly good. Since the images are fairly distorted I did not seek approval from any of the subjects.

Do let me know if you liked these pixelated images.

Photography is hard

Photography is hard, Tarun Chandel Photoblog

Yes it is hard,
you have to bend at odd angles...
you have to keep looking for that perfect shot...
you have to keep peeping through the camera ...
you have to look like a fool sometimes...
but it all pays off after that perfect shot!!

It feels good when people say hey that's nice but I wonder how you took that shot!
It feels good when people say I love that shot!
It feels good when people say you have some talent with camera!
It feels good when people say that you Kickass (oh yes I am on Alltop)!
Thanks for making this hard task bit easy!!
